Here at The Sperry Family farm we raise ADGA registered Nigerian Dwarf Goats. Nigerian dwarf goats are friendly, gentle goats who are also very efficient dairy goats that provide rich, creamy milk. Our goat herd is part of our family and we spend a lot of time with them each day. Each goat is an individual with their own unique personality and they provide happiness and laughter to all who meet them. Our goats have traveled to local events in 2018 and will begin going to ADGA sanctioned shows in 2019 as well as local events, please see events tab for calendar.
Nigerian dwarf does are typically bred once a year in late fall and can remain in milk for several months. Here in the Northeast I chose to breed my does in late November or early December. Does are pregnant for 5 months and the kids will be born in late April and May when the weather is hopefully a little more seasonable. The farm will be selling our kids in the future so keep an eye out for future updates on this site and Facebook. Please click on "Nigerian dwarf goats at the top right and then click the link to our "For sale" page from the drop down menu.
Beginning in 2019 the farm will be enrolled in performance programs through ADGA. Our herd will have a linear appraisal on all eligible herd members. Our does will also be on a milk testing , a program that tracks how much milk each one produces and tests the quality and content of the milk. This program also allows the doe to earn recognition for her performance and production.
Please visit our "Buck Pen" and "Doe Den" pages from the drop down menu under "Nigerian Dwarf goats" at the top right of this page to meet the herd members and see some information about each one including a link to their pedigree.
