A little bit about Our Herd

Here at The Sperry Family farm we raise ADGA registered Nigerian Dwarf Goats. Nigerian dwarf goats are friendly, gentle goats who are also very efficient dairy goats that provide rich, creamy milk. Our goat herd is part of our family and we spend a lot of time with them each day. Each goat is an individual with their own unique personality and they provide happiness and laughter to all who meet them. Our goats have traveled to local events in 2018 and will begin going to ADGA sanctioned shows in 2019 as well as local events.

As we move in to the fall we are preparing our goats for the upcoming breeding season. Nigerian dwarf does are typically bred once a year in late fall and can remain in milk for several months. Here in the Northeast I chose to breed my does in late November or early  December.  Does are pregnant for 5 months and the kids will be born in late April and May when the weather is hopefully a little more seasonable. The farm will be selling our kids in the future so keep an eye out for future updates. Let me introduce you to the herd!

Our bucks are Rion (chocolate) and Reese (black and white), these 2 gentlemen are full brothers and were born on March 27, 2017 and joined our farm on May 25, 2017. This year we welcomed 2 more bucks, Nero (all black) and Falcon (silver). Nero was born on March 26, 2018 and came home on May 26, 2018. Falcon was born on April 22, 2018 and came home on July 19, 2018.

We currently have 7 does on the farm. Nutmeg (red, black, white) is 2 yr old and had her first baby here on the farm on April 22, 2018, a little doeling named Ginger (light brown, black). We have 5 yearling does that will be bred for the first time in the fall. They are: Cocoa (chocolate), Bella (red with white), Joslyn (brown, black, white), Autumn (brown, black, white) and Caramel (gold with moonspots)

Thank you for visiting!

Some of our girls on their playset they love playing on or around it or sometimes just taking a nap!
